Default Aftermarket Cruise Control

Afternoon all,

As title suggests, I am after information, (prices, where to buy) regarding after-market cruise control kits. I am after something quality, not 'kwality'. It is to be fitted to the Poo-troll, (Turbo Diesel). Has anyone here bought a decent kit before, for their bunky/second car etc...? (noting most of us have cruise control in our Subarus).

What brands are best to go for, and where from? I would prefer one with a nice stalk/keypad or something for the +/- set/decel etc. Happy to take replies here or inbox.

Thanks in advance,

Brent.

This is what I installed on my STI (Stupid GC8 never came with cruise). Works
a treat. Vaccum actuator with a storage canister so it still works when the
boost comes on. Controls are on the steering wheel and looks factory. You're
welcome to have a gander at it dude.

Yeah, Autron cruise is the only one that comes close to a factory fit and operation. Ashley Electrical in Malaga is the agent, if they can't install for you, they will put you onto a dealer that will. On ZD30 engined Patrol it's a plug in module, no moving parts as it's all drive by wire. On the old TD42 nugget it's still a actuator, they can be electric or vacuum operated. Electric is better but costs more. The controls on the steering wheel is an option too, costs a bit more but I reckon it's worthy. I have one installed on my D4D Hilux and it's as good as a factory cruise.

Do not buy a cheap cruise control from a mobile guy with a South African accent. He fitted one for a customer of mine and the installation was below average, in fact, it was an embarrasment.

How much was yours Ian?

Just gave the guys Dougie said a call... and for the 3400, plus steering wheel switch (the half moon looking one), was 695 installed. (They come to you apparently).

I had a unit fitted to my V8 cruiser ute (current model one - 75 series I think) and they came to me and from memory it was about $750. Is absolutely brilliant. Mounted on the steering wheel.

It is the unit from Ashley Electrical. 9249 1234.

Thanks Brendon...

Yeah - thats the guys I rang. So $695 sounds on the money. I stupidly forgot to ask supply only... but might just say bugger it and get them to do it all.

My car used to have it but when the spec c conversion was done it was removed. Is there a way to put the factory one onto the spec c motor?
