Cant believe I forgot to mention, the other day I was stopped at the traffic lights, foot on brake, car in neutral. And the engine stalled by itself. I then kept trying to start it, and it took probably 10 - 15 tries before it started.

Unsure if this is a Brandt or AFM issue..?

Sounds like what used to happen to Karina, pretty sure that was Brandt related!

yep good old piece of shit brant at it again most likely... but i also remember this used to happen due to my cam shaft position sensor over heating... but that took 10-15 minutes to start up not 10-15 tries... but exactly what u described at the lights used to happen.

Just an update on this issue. I decided to ditch the K&N pod in replacement for an Apexi Power Intake.

I have also ordered a brand new air flow meter from ebay (which all the numbers match up to my old one):

SUBARU WRX 22680AA310 1974002090 AIR FLOW METER NEW | eBay

So yesterday it arrived and I installed them both. Tried started my car, and every time it would kick over for a second and then die.

So I then installed my old air flow meter and it started fine and did not die.

Took it for a drive and most of the sputtering has gone away but the car still does not feel 100%.

Am i correct in assuming that the air flow meter I recieved from ebay is faulty. And i should contact and recieve a replacement item?

Any help is much appreciated, Cheers

I have heard of people getting brand new air flow meter's and them failing and since it didn't run with the new one I would have thought that would be the problem.

Also sounds like you may even have more than one problem. Firstly you only just started having problems since you installed a second hand fuel pump? Maybe a problem there. If not like some people have said Brant are known for their problems have you had the solders checked on the module?

have not checked for problems in the fuel pump or brant system. I guess i will try to return this afm for a different one, and see how I go. Aparently they come with a 2 year warranty.

Ditch brant !! It causes spluttering.
