Yes I risk blowing my engine, but I wanted a car that can go quick. Anything you drive hard will break eventually. It's a risk I am willing to take.

No Worries!!!!!!!!!

sorry but thats just silly, for what you can gain your willing to risk an engine rebuild?

These guys are trying to give you advice here, I think being cheap about it will cost you so much more in the end. Whats $100 now to $5k in two weeks?

Manually increasing boost and using a bleed type FCD to prevent fuel cut are ok for a cheap quick fix but the increased boost will cause the motor to run lean. It’s not just the increased boost that can stress the bottom end but the weak mixture due to lack of fuel/air mapping that can cause big problems like holed pistons and burnt valves.
You could be realising that risk you are willing to take sooner rather than later.

But you can have a WRX running safely on 18 psi for years, why risk breaking it on only 18 psi by doing something on the cheap, when it can be done fairly cheaply anyway, and reliably???

Guys, I was only having a laugh. I don't plan on blowing my engine. I want more boost (not heaps) approx 18psi is what I am chasing. I realise that I need a propper fuel cut defender but can't afford one right now. I will just have to stick with 16psi until I can. I didn't mean to get anyones back up.

Scooter mate, the extra 1psi won't really make that much off a differance in speed but u will fuck your engine, if u want it to go fast by all means, go an ecu and u can run massive boost and atlest not have huge detonation which will atlest give your motor a little more life. btw, if u want to go faster, loose the huge mofo rims, u'll notice a huuuge difference.

picking it up tonight another wrx. scooter mate, trust me, don't do that to your engine it will cost u more than u can imagine. just stick at 16-17 at the most no need to go over that, try driving round with your stockies for a while, yeah your rims look good but trying to hoon *not that any of us do* while daily driving with those 20's < correct me if i'm wrong > on just slows u down.
