Default Whining noise- possible alternator?

Hi all,

Yesterday arvo I gave the engine bay a hit with some degreaser and a bit with the pressure cleaner... Noticed some noisy belts straight after as expected but nothing else... Today I the car had a flat battery as I had left the door slightly open (it was in the garage)... so I jump started it, and instantly notice this weird whining noise that increases with engine revs.

Took it for a spin round the block, but still stays. Car drives fine, except for the noise.

Here's a quick phone vid:

Any ideas?

I'm thinking a bearing or something, but it seems like a weird coincidence....

Can't hear anything with that sound quality. Spray some belt-grip on the belts, it may have squealed previously & you may have removed what was there before.

Took it round the old man's place, turned out to be the alternator AND air con bearings...

If anyone has an alternator to suit 99/00 that they will let go for $50, PM me...

Hopefully gonna be able to rebuild them with new bearings

If you are rebuilding yours, I might have one here you can borrow while yours is being fixed if that helps you out??
