Default Help with buying a forester! Not running.

Hi, just needing some help/advise on this forester I'm thinking of getting for 2-2.5k (worth the effort)?

Basically it's a 99 gx auto 290000 kms, apparently it had a cracked radiator and hose which caused it to heat up. So they replaced that along with thermostat, flushed radiator. But it still overheats.

It's been sitting 2weeks now and I came to inspect it today and we couldn't get it started, battery is fine got fuel but engine won't turn over.(fuel pump issues?

Have checked oil and coolant isnt milky. But after attempting to start it there is a lot of pressure in the radiator and bit of steam coming out of it when I opened it and bit of Gregish smoke in exhaust.

Sorry if it's a bit long but thanks in advance for your helping.

Sounds like warped heads if it is pressuring up the cooling system.
Depends on if you wanted a project or a car to drive. I personally would probably walk away at that price as its gonna cost $$$ to repair/replace motor.

If you are mechanically minded enough to fix it up yourself and feel like a bit of a project, it could be worth it. If not, run away.

Half sounds like head gasket gone, but you saying it doesn't turn over is not a good sign either, if they have got it that hot motor could be seized. i would try turning it over by hand but yeh its worth more like $200-$500 really

if it had less km's it would be worth getting it and putting a second hand engine in, but with that many km's on it even with a second hand engine with lower km's it won't be worth much
