Has any one had any issues with the boys in blue over their ppg straight/hellical gearboxes?

doubt a PPG box would exceed 88db

I wouldn't think it would be an issue - but I guess - technically, it probably could earn you a defect.

You can get a defect on suspicion that something is not right. I know a guy that got a yellow sticker on his corolla for the factory fitted strut brace...

Worry about it when the time comes. Act like a tool around cops and you will get stickered for something regardless of what the car is/has...
