I dont reckon... I removed mine for a while, and it didnt seem to perform any different, or run any cooler. Just gave the cops something else to whinge about when they picked me out for a "random inspection"!

No, quite the opposite. Creates turbulence which in turn limits airflow over the engine and the efficiency of the top mount intercooler.
