So I thought it was the clutch....fail
Seems like a bit of a mechanical fail by me. After having bugger all drive on my last skidpan run, it was assumed that id burnt my clutch out completely. there was no clunks or cv clicks or gbox or diff noise, but i should of trusted my first instinct of a cv problem.
anyways started to pull everything off just now, spent a few hours gettin dirty, just about ready to pull bellhousing off engine and i notice rear cv sitting ajar. it had popped out of the diff as its one of those snap in shafts - i had swapped that cv a month ago! so ill put that cv back in and hope she all goes better. does this sound like the problem? or is there more to it? coz i thought i would still have enough drive to the front with a shaft not functioning in the rear

With one shaft out the centre diff allows some drive to be spread forward, but because it's viscous, it always has some slip...Kind makes it feel 'mushy'. What do you want for the clutch? I'm in the market seeing as my 5000km old clutch fried on the dyno last weekend

Remember to chg the lock ring as the fail very often. Do not use the old one back or it will pop out again. Match up a new one and make sure the groove is not worn, otherwise you will need a new drive shaft.
My 2cents. Regards, Mao |

bit of an update. tried to put the shaft back in but it wouldnt stay. so after taking it out found this...
end piece of the shaft was snapped off inside the diff. popped it out from the other side and swapped the cv ends. she'll be back together soon! yay!
