Rim Offset and Tyre Fitment Guide
Ok, In addition to the "anything about rims" thread, this one is dedicated solely to rim offset and tyre fitment.
Below is what is meant by "offset". You can see how offset affects clearance from both the strut and gaurds. Googling "offset calculator" will probably lead you to websites telling you how you can pay less interest on your mortgage... So go here instead. Wheel Offset Calculator Standard rim offsets are: MY94-97 +55mm offset MY98-00 +53mm offset MY02-04 STi +53mm offset MY01-05 +55mm offset MY06-07 STi +53mm offset Forester XT +48mm offset Post pics of your rims (on your car) and state the rim size, and offset, as well as the tyre size. Along with any other info that may help people choose rim size and styles. I'd say this is about the perfect fitment and size for looks AND practicality.. If they were wider or offset further, I'd probably have to rely on some tyre stretch to get me by without rubbing, and this of course compromises grip. I don't get any rubbing now, except for a slight amount on full lock in the front (on the plastic guard liners, not the guards), and none at all in the rear even with a loaded car. how is your rear tyre side wall, are the guards slicing onto it?
how is your rear tyre side wall, are the guards slicing onto it?
They were before I got the coilovers lifted, seems to be fine now...well until I can get them rolled and camber... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
im not the only one lol yeah get the guards pumped out using mallet and heat gun and bulk camber

For those in the 'stance' seen..
my current set up. • STD R5 Coilovers (Front and rear Height, Damper and camber adjustable) • XXR 521 18x8.5+35 in Flat Black • Adrenza 215/35R18 Tyres - Stretched • All Guards Rolled Flat • Adjusted and wheel aligned Lowered as much as possible without scraping, 2.5 degree’s camber all around. Obviously it's not the most practical setup, but looks awesome in my opinion!
