Question Erratic Behaviour

I have had an intermittent issue whereby the car suffers a cut-out when reving. Hard to describe but momentarily looses power almost like fuel cut at 3,000 to 4,000K revs, then if you pull up at lights in the next few seconds the car will stall and you need to switch off the ignition to restart it. This has happend 5 to 6 times over past 5 weeks.
My first thoughts are Mass Air Flow meter? But also want to know if these are symptoms of Brant alarm system, although I dont know if alarm affects the car once it is running?
2003 WRX NON STI.

Any other thoughts people?

Cheers Tim

Get it checked, sounds like the afm, it may have thrown a code whilst cutting out so get it plugged in to see.

Does the car chuck up any check engine lights? Does it only do it when driving?

Could be numerous things (boost leak, hose come off, crank angle sensor, air flow meter, dirty plugs, crap leads yada).

I'd go see the guys at STechnic to have a look at it for you.

In answer to one of your questions, yes, the Brant can affect the car whilst running, although could be numerous other things as mentioned above.
