screeching noise = tighten your alternator & p/s belts

revs jumping up in 5th gear when you tramp it = clutch slip

can't adjust a clutch that is slipping mate, take it to a reputable workshop (like s-technic) for propper diagnosis before you go slashing your wrists or anything

I would say belts or pully with the aircon screech. Probably your clutch if the engine is free reving.

Someone with more knowledge then me will probably answer you better but take it to a mechanic and get it checked out if you're not sure.

Edit: Beaten like a redheaded step child.

Before you point fingers, the clutch may not have been slipping when they inspected it.
It wont slip, then the next day it will, and progressively get worse until it's undrivable.

^ kinda like when a week later from picking up my car the water pump went, doh! i guess it was cheaper than a clutch however.

im not sure on this, but when doing the clutch is it better to change to a lightened flywheel at the same time if you would be thinking of one in the future?
