Default Constant Backfiring

Hey guys.. I just put a new Hi flo 3" TBE on my rex.. And it seems to be backfiring heaps. i could be cruising down the freeway at 100km/h and theres a few loud pops. Then after i change up gears, after the gears engaged, it pops once.. then keeps going. Then sometimes changing down gears it backfires a few small pops..

I know the cause would be the fuels running rich or whatever, but how do i stop it? Because im starting to get worried now. Most of the time its the normal deep noise of the backfire. But a few times its almost like a really loud crack. I dont know whats making it do it.

Input would helpfull on how to fix it. Thanks

Busted oxygen sensor maybe.
Take it to a workshop to get properly diagnosed, such as stechnic.

Also the 2001 onwards wrx does not respond well to performance mods without a tune.
Edit: noticed you have a verso, but guessing that was before the exhaust was fitted?

You've changed the breathing of the car and not retuned to suit?

I'd go see ASG and check the verso tune isn't out of whack with the new exhaust.

Have you installed anything else, like a BOV at the same time?

Im not sure what bov it is.. i think stock... When i went to ASG, they put the new exhaust on,cold air intake, fuel pump and verso tuned it.... So it was all at once.

Ah, so this is how the car was tuned? No changes since the tune?

I'd still go back and ask them if it is tune related.

It could be something else like O2 sensor, exhaust leak or crank angle sensor failing too.

(BOV is blow off valve btw)

Yeah theres been no changes since the car was tuned. I might bring it back today and sus it out. Cas yeh, every so often, its a loud crack coming from the exhaust, not the normal deep pop.

And i know BOV is a blow off valve, it came with the car so i dont know what kind it is..

Maybe spark plugs, or a leak in the exhaust system somewhere, since its just been fitted.
Need to take it back and get them to sort it.

Or even a leak somewhere around the airflow meter
