When I changed from the MY98 to the STi the crowd the lease company suggested could take the classic off my hands offered me screw all for it so I drove into City Subaru ( who had none on the lot at the time ) and said what will you give me for it. Pretty fair price actually.

They asked only two questions about it when they test drove it. Was the stereo staying in it & HAD IT EVER HAD A BOOST CONTROLLER FITTED???

They would not touch it if it had had a boost controller as they were concerned it would end up being a warranty job for them if it had.

So cheep boost controller 300 bucks + possible popped motor couple of grand OR $900 Verso tune ( Ecutek by Lane at Race Torque if you can come up with the extra dosh ) with factory reliability and better performance.

Bit of a no brainer if you ask me. If you can't afford to do it properly don't do it because it is the cheep way to do it right the first time.

if you have a proper ecu, the EBC is not necessary.

with an EBC on a stock ecu, the gains are bugger all.

Alright, I'll skip it then guys Might just add some more 'wank factor' stuff on for now and then tune and work the engine once I have the proper funds

like mentioned before i have a hybrid one on my car, and like john mentioned boost seems to come on earlier, it also holds till the redline. i only raised boost to 1 bar, wasn't a huge diffrence but like said can feel boost earlier.

just a question, what is the max boost you should go on a 99 rex with vf35/34 with usual bolt on mods? take into consideration that it is not booted all the time as its my daily, i granny drive it most of the time

WOuldn't think you would need a EBC with Verso. I've wound my boost up to 26psi and back down to a more reasonable 23psi with Ecuflash.
