Default Whiteline rear sway bar recall 22/08/11

Hi all,

Spotted this on rexnet this morning (I haven't seen this posted on pwrx yet? - if it has then apologies for re-posting).

Seems like there's been some manufacturing defects with their rear sway bars.

Quoted directly from rexnet:

"Dear valued Whiteline customer,

We wish to advise of a production defect tolerance issue regarding the below Whiteline rear sway bars.

Yep they called me up too and told me about it.

Sent them a couple pictures, the distance on mine seems ok and after a fair few skidpans + tuning arvo's I cant see any signs of contact, rubbing or leak from the lines but I'll get it checked if need be.

Whiteline were kind enough to offer a replacement bar + inc labour costs too.

Same here. Just got contacted by a representative from whiteline. I'm quite impressed with the support their offering.

Fortunately it seems like my bar is safe! There doesn't appear to be any issues with brake line clearance. Phew.

Issues with the sway bar will occur depending on where the sway bar is adjusted to. On the inner most setting, the rear sway bar will hit and might severe the brake lines. Been told to advise you guys to change them if you had purchased the GD models above.
