Default Defected for 20's

Morning guys,

Got a defect notice the other night for my 20's. This is fair enough as the placard says 17's and I guess the biggest I can legally go is 19".

My problem is I live in Kalgoorlie, I dont know anyone with a WRX to borrow some wheels off.... The officer suggested removing the 20's, putting stock alloys back on it then once it's cleared the pits I can put my 20's back on it.... I'm gobsmacked at how much time is going to be wasted to remove this defect notice when he then suggests putting my bigger wheels back on after? Kind of defeats the purpose in the first place....

Anyway, my question is can I get them engineered? Is it a costly process? It's all new to me as I have never contemplated doing it before or even had to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Tell the cop he is full of shit.

From what I understand, there is no more +2 inch limit on rim sizes. It simply must retain the correct rolling diameter.

Do some research, you should be ok.

20s on a WRX is for the hard parked show car.

Sell 20s and buy decent quality 18s, your spine will love you for it.

Yeah I agree with what your saying thats for sure. Especially on Kalgoorlie roads (spoon drains everywhere) But having said that the ride is still fairly good surprisingly.

I always thought it was overall wheel diameter that was what they gauged wheel sizes by not the actual rim size?

Having a search now and seeing what I can find.

Yawn. Good one dude.........

They came on the car and never really bothered changing them, why I have them isn't at all what I asked. Yes if I was keeping the car I personally would put 17/18's on it, however Im not.... so need a simple solution....
