Default Brake Squealing :(

Hi All

I recently did my front brakes and now have the worst squeal ive ever had

I have DBA 4000 discs which were machined, and Ferodo Formula 2000 Pads on a MY99.

I also replaced the pins and retaining clips that holds the pads. The annoying thing is the squeal is just from the right hand side.

I'm quite confident i bed the pads correctly. I checked the right hand side today and the pads are fine - not glazed or anything - i also used heaps of antisqueal on the back of the pads and shims.

When the discs were machined the guy never measured the min thickness, plus the slots are really thin almost gone.

Is it possible i need new discs - could this be causing the annonynig squeal.

The squeal only happens when applying light pressure and just occurs just before you stop - it is so loud though it is embarrassing.

Can someone shed some light on my problem?

Thanks Anthony

The are brand new pads - no evidence of the wear indicator even close to touching the rotor.

Some1 suggested swapping the pads left to right. Might give it a go 2morrow.

This is scaring me. I'm about to get my DBA4000S and Ferodo 2500s installed this weekend.

i use to have this squeal, especially loud when stopping from slow speeds or just before coming to rest on my older 180. I was running Racing gear pads though with dba slotted discs, from what i understood its actually the setup of having steel pads they will squeal, they also put out unbelievably hard brake dust to wash of the wheels used to cake on very easily, eventually got fed up and switched to ebc green stuff.

V interested in your findings as my next upgrade was going to be the brakes and have had much about the combo you have mentioned, although if theyre going to squeal like buggering i might just go with green stuff again.
