Default Smoke coming out of bonnet scoop?

Hay guys,

Me and my Dad have recently been seeing smoke coming out of our bonnet scoop and we are not that sure where its coming from. The cars temp doesnt rise at all and it doesnt seem to effect the cars performance at all but when you see smoke coming outa your bonnet...you shit yourself! Around our exhaust we have a wrapping ( i think it is to take the heat out of the exhaust or something? ) and my dad says it might be the wrapping smoldering because the smoke comes from that direction. if so, how do we stop it? is there some anti fire catching spray you can put on it? or do we have to get a new wrapping altogether?
please help!
Thanks
AzzA
