Default Different brand tires at front and back

Hi all,

Just wondering, is it ok to have different brand tires at the front & back with the same size? I was told by some people that even they are rated the same size, due to different manufacturer the size such as diameter may be slightly different. Will this matter if this is the case & will it do any damage to the car?

I guess even if you same brand & model if the front are new & the rear are old & worn, could be up to 8mm difference in radius due to difference in thread thickness.

Negligible difference is negligible.
