Is the remote working the central locking?
If it isn't, then the lock n unlock signal will not send the signal to arm and disarm the Brant.

Couple of things to check before proceeding to bypass Brant:
1) Get the designated battery for the remote .. the battery number is written in your owner's manual. The pharmacies and even dick smith do not stock the correct battery so head down to Subaru parts or Battery world for tghe correct Battery.

2) As Johnvk has mentioned, make sure the battery is the right way up.

3) Also take some contact cleaner and use a cotton bud to clean the battery contacts if possible.

Is there a way of bypassing the system!

Or can it be Manually disarmed from the module direct? Then I'll come get it sorted once car is running..

Mao,

1) the remote control is not working.
2) the remote control on the key arms and disarms the autowatch alarm
3) The replacement battery was from jcar in madington.

4) Once you replace the battery dosent it have to be recoded for the barell and have to be taken to subaru??

Sorry was under the impression that you had the brant.

Barrell does not need to be reprogrammed after changing the battery. However there were 2 different versions of the Autowach upgrade systems and one of them need programming for the Autowatch functions to kick in.

Whereabouts is the car? I can bypass the autwatch so you can start the car.

The remote does not have to be recoded if the battery is replaced. Only if you buy a new remote (key).
You raise a good point though, I had a WRX in a couple of weeks back with Motec (M48).
We had to replace the lock set, which normally would require the new keys to be coded, but I was unable to communicate with the ECU so could not code the keys.
That model Motec ignored the immobiliser anyway, so it wasn't needed. Only to code the remotes.
So if you do need to buy a new key, they might not need to code the immobiliser, but would still need the car to code the remotes.

A tow truck might be nessacary

This is what i thought. We changed thd battery last time and I didn't take the car to Subaru. So the autowatch might have been bypassed or something. But since the car battery has been disconnected for over a yr it reverted back??
