Default help with Jdm Half cut not starting

Hi Guys. The harness is out of the Half cut. And yes it does have the extra switch on the key barrel. It doesn't show that extra key switch on the Factory manual, is that only on JDM imports? and how do I check it if the plug is plugged in. (I Checked its Plugged in) do I Just check for continuity to the ECU?

If the ECU is Stuffed what are my options? I dont want to spend an arm and a leg i just want it to run.

Cheers Clive

did you swap the steering column with the key barrel ? This would then plug in to the harness. If not look under the clap on the barrel drill out the studs, there M8 threaded holes so just drill the heads off. Then just fit the barrel to the electrical pugs in your car and see if it starts. you can machine the heads down on two M8 cap screws to re fit the barrel to your steering column

or give me a buzz I walk you through it 0407074141

Default jdm half cut

I have changed the Timing belt and i made sure that all the marks lined up but I am open for suggestions. I also have put in the steering column out of the half cut so it has the switch and it is connected. I am getting a Replacement EcU Picked up on Monday to try and eliminate that.

Cheers Clive

He's on Gerro Chris or I would have offered my spare 94 computer for him to try. Just by chance have you checked the main engine fuse under the bonnet? possibly the one closest to your battery and I think 80amp, I've had a couple go and so has my son.

If the main fuse went Tom , the car would not crank. The stater draws the most amps

I also wonder if the timing marks are out

Default Help with JDM halfcut not starting

Hi Guys, The halfcut was apparently test run in Japan and again in Aust. I didn't have the luxury of seeing it run as a Mate picked it up for me. I no that's pretty silly but thats the way it had to be.
Tracy at A PART wreckers Said he has seen it run and he wont buy them if they are not Run in the Cut and he seems like a pretty decent guy too me.

He is Suppling another ECU for me to Try and my Wife is picking it up on Monday as she is in Perth for the day.

Can any of you guys that have 1994 Wrx tell me if you have a blue 2 pin plug connected to your accelerator pedal. this was not connected when i got the cut but there is no were to plug it into, and from the info i have found that they only use this plug on Autos for the kickdown. And i also have a blue 4pin plug just above the kick panel fuse box that has 4 yellow wires. I Don't no if these are relevant but they weren't connected to anything and I can't see any connectors to match.

Cheers for all you guys helping me out I really appreciate it. Clive

Clive, some manuals have a plug/wire that goes to the accelerator, you would see a small micro switch fitted to the peddle in the half cut if there was a wire to it. Its for switching the ecu to stop over run of fuel if I recall correctly

Toms V5 half cut had a switch on the clutch, you need to clutch it to start. Lucky the peddle was in the boot & I noted the switch fitted !

Default help with Jdm Half cut not starting

Hi Seagull, It does have a micro switch on the accelerator pedal but I cant see were it would connect to. Would this not being connected stop it from starting?
I presume that the Jdm WRX has a different wiring diagram. but i can't find any on the web. Its annoying how they have different diagrams for different countries for the same year suby.

Cheers Clive
