Default Car Alarm Issue.

When I bought my GC8 it came with an aftermarket car alarm. However, it wasn't until recently that I realised that the chick I bought it from never gave me a key to turn off the battery back-up siren.

I'm planning on moving the alarm siren from where it is to inside the drivers side guard (in order to free up some engine bay space for something I've got planned a little later down the track).

Moving the siren itself isn't going to be too hard but I'm going to need to extend some wires by cutting them and splicing in some more wire. I'm assuming that unless I have the key to turn the battery back-up siren off it's going to start wailing the minute I cut any wires.

So my questions are

A) Am I right that it the alarm is most likely to go off when I cut any wires?

B) Is there any way to temporarily disable the battery back-up siren without the key.

nb: I don't know what brand alarm it is as I can't find any markings on the siren, brain, or main unit, and it didn't come with a manual.

Any help greatly appreciated.
