Default exhaust advice.

hey all.
ive been watching some youtube videos of some nice sti's in america and japan, but these guys cars sound like rally cars and i want! mine has the air intake done,3inch exhaust and a tune and stil sounds no where near as tough and ken block like! is there something else that can be done to achieve that sound/performance?thinking it might be mechanical as well as exhaust.

so if you can help let me know.

thanks

You need the fully Hectic Equal Length Headers and straight through pipe with a bit of anti lag for that true rally sound .

Ok serious and maybe related question....i've seen some Subarus with this kind of whirring mechanical gearbox noise....similar to a supercharger whine....how does one get this?

I read somewhere it was as simple as a tranny mount?

ISDISTRUE?

I know it's kind of ricey but it actually sounds really good...

Well.... It's kindof illegal to run a straight pipe. Unless you want to be yellow stickered I wouldn't suggest it. There is countless threads on here about exhausts, just use the search function in the menu and trawl through all the info. It's really down to how much you want to spend.

You're most likely referring to a straight cut gear set/dog box whine...to get this sound will cost $$$$
