im betting it was a airlock after the fluid change... can take up to 20 mins and lots of starts and stops to bleed the suby cooling system properly. some mechanics try and do it quick to get on to the next car and this is what happens. His fault however you kept driving it so your fault too.

^^ Yep more than likely it was an air lock but he will not take the blame for you cooking it either! I know it is a bi*ch but you will more than likely have to pay to do the heads/gaskets if they are gone!
