V5 STi RA Door Mirror Question
Some of you will know that I have a V5 STi RA....being Jap spec (obviously) the door mirrors are the variety that fold in at the touch of a switch.
I'm looking to replace them with CF ones to save weight and improve side vision, so I would be looking to flog off the ones on the car. But before I do so, does anyone know if the Aus spec GC8's (WRX and/or STi) have the wiring in place to make the fold-in function operate?

subaru have a habbit of only having the barest essentials of wiring in a car, so i highly doubt any aus delivered car has the switch/wiring for folding them in or out.

As far as I know they don't Steve, because if i'm not mistaken the RA has a button either just next to the adjustment on the center console near the handbrake or where the foglight switch normally is ? Perhaps flick Doug a text msg in regards to it ?

Well I know that a MY98 Aus delivered WRX doesn't have the wiring, as I tried plugging in my foldy mirrors and noticed there were some connections not on my loom.
All the buyer would need to do is run a couple of cables to the mirrors and have the switch to suit.

Yerp...already asked the Dougmeister and he didn't know...neither did Herridge Sen...thus the post.
John, theoretically the extra wires would be all that's needed since the switch and adjuster would be sold with the mirrors...I will need to have a look at the back of the switches and see what's there, but I certainly won't be cutting any plugs/wires off the loom!

ADM cars do not. They are fairly easy to wire in though. I have done this on 2 cars myself. Main thing is that you need the folding mirror switch with them.

OK, thanks...that's good to know....I will definitely sell the switch with them.

Just need to run a couple of wires from the switch to the mirrors. Sounds simple, so I haven't done it yet

Yeah did it to mine too, just added some wire between new switch & mirrors, handy off road.

It's handy if you have an old loom laying around that you can unpin factory connectors from to add in. If you need a hand with it, hit me up.
