Yeah it's pretty easy, just take the big pipe that sits between that & your turbo off ( two big hose clips) & you'll have easy access to it, give it a really good blast & put it back on but don't use anything but contact cleaner, dries almost instantly & will remove any residue on the element.

yes.
have a look at that same spot on your intake. there will be a plug going into the windscreen side of the black intake pipe.

this plug is attached to the AFM which is held in by two screws.
unplug it and unscrew these. careful not to drop them into the engine bay.
pull out the AFM. it might be a little tough because of the rubber seal.
spray through the hole in the end where the elements are with the CO Contact Cleaner.
blow out and residue moisture and fit the AFM back injust how it was origninally.

make sure you re-insert the AFM facing the correct direction! there is an arrow for airflow from memory...

Thanks to Clint she back to normal after changing the AFM which seemed to have solved the problem. Cheers for the info guys

did you also experience pinging/detonation sometimes at high rpms, spluttering or a wall at 4k rpm?
also sometimes car almost stalling, then idle going up and down in strange increments.
