The reason they fail is usually because people get impatient and angry refitting the intercooler. You must remove the strut brace or risk damaging the hose as per yours. (and scratching the brace usually as well)

A spray of lube on the inside hose and a blunt seal pick to help guide it on are handy.

I use a spray of UEC to lube it up, works a treat

No strut brace. Was damaged by previous owner or workshop, not by me.

Yeah, it's an amazing product but I hate to think what it's doing to our lungs. Gotta be some serious carcinogens in it!

i used silicone spray to help get the pipes back on. worked much better than expected!
