Had an 05 sti with cold air intake, at certain gears as boost was building up i would hear a 'flutter'/'similar sound to a 'compressor surge' sound. Checked with the work shop said everything was ok, think it was excess boost/ some thing about the wastegate.

But I'm sure if you go to a workshop a mechanic could probably sit in your car go for a lap and tell you the issue immediately.

I was just reading about compressor surge sounds like that may be the case will be taking it to my mechanic on Monday to get a better understanding. Thanks!
