Default GC8 EGT Sensor

Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is an easy way to install a EGT sensor into a GC8 1997 WRX, like can i replace a stock EGT sensor? And if so were is it located, etc?

I dont really want to have to install a new bung to put the sensor into.

cheers.

Yeah theres only an 02 sensor on the dump pipe as Rossco has stated. If you are looking to install one, perhaps try find out which number cylinder runs the leanest (the one with the longest running fuel line at a guess) and install it into the headers.

When i put my Equal length headers on i had too go to a shop in Cannington. They sorted me out with a metal bung i placed into my headers to plug it up, otherwise (and Simmo7 got it on video) it sounded like i was driving a tractor around......hah.

If you buy an aftermarket Up-pipe, or a set of aftermarket headers, they will have mounting boss at the top of the up-pipe, as the 01-02 WRX and the 03-05 XT Forester have an EGT sensor standard. They just fit the boss to all of the aftermarket ones. All the ones I've seen anyway.
So, purchase either, buy EGT kit, install in pipe, fit it to your car, your away.
