Default cops versus exhaust

are tbe with cannons against W.A. regulations (noise etc)
Would love one on my Hatch but don't wanna go down that path if it only causes grief.
I saw a lot of cannon types at the C.M.M.C. so input/opinions much appreciated

Get a nice twin exit oval muffler. looks like a stocker and makes the right noises. How loud it gets is up to your right foot and how the cops treat you is up to how much of a cock you were being before they picked you up (usually, exceptions to every rule!)

Google "twin tip muffler" to check out what they look like. Looks better than a cannon anyway in my opinion but each to their own!

Personally I like canons. If you get one and decide it's too loud for you/neighbours/cops you can just get a small hotdog muffler put in your exhaust to tone it down a little bit.

There are no specific rules as to the shape of your exhaust.
It must not hang lower than 100m from the ground, must meet noise and gas emissions, be free from leaks and exit at the rear (generally, some commercial vehicles are exempt)

thanks...yeah decisions decisions..
100mm from road is an interesting issue when lowering comes in to play no doubt.
I think I read that after 2001 models would need a tune also with new exhaust.
Sound right?
I was so jealous on Sunday. I was in the back row at Langley Park listening to all the
sweet exhausts rumbling away.

thought about modifying the twin outlets maybe a high flow tbe still with the twin outlets like the hatchy at targa sounded mint. i personally like the twin outlets, cannons are definitly good for a deeper more refined note

they say you need a tune if you're putting a turbo back exhaust on. Cat back is different. Yet to see a car have terminal trouble from running an exhaust without a tune. It would probably jusdt cause your car to run a little rich...

Get a decent cannon if you do, some can drone a bit on the freeway. Failing that oval sounds awesome and doesn't attract have the attention!
