Default How to build a boxer engine from scratch

So after playing with idea of adding continuous mods to my car i decided I wanna learn more about the boxer engine by just building one from scratch fully forged and pretty much the best parts money can buy. Over a yr or two just buying and fitting new parts each week, I can't seem to find any books on the boxer engine can any enthusiasts on here recommend where to buy one?

I wouldn't recommend buying top shelf engine parts and then using inexperienced labour to assemble them.

Forget it unless you are a trained engine builder and have the necessary knowledge, skills and tools.

I want to see you do it and post up pictures of your progression, inclusive of all mistakes.

Unless you plan on building a few engines, you will be buying tools that will never be used again wasting money.

Might be best to buy a short block and go from there.

Sonic has already decided to do it so we should support him. I'm interested in some good boxer documentation too.

Good luck with the build and keep us up to date.

I've decided that I'm going to read a few books on building and I'm going to build my own house instead of paying the experts to do it. Concrete pour, laying bricks, roof beams and tiles, how hard can it be? What's the worst that could happen?!

pm if you have spare wheel barrows and trowels

Fuck me, way to be positive.

Gonna get a porno star around to bang your mrs too as you technically aren't a professional?

Good on ya sonic! Give it a go and document everything, good and bad!

Harsh but funny trolley, I don't think there's any better way to learn about your car than to tinker with it, but id save the money and play with a bucket of crap until your confident you can make the kind of motor your clearly after. No use buying a whole bunch of quality parts to have it fall apart on you, not worth the heartache.

Making my Mrs explode is a good thing. Making an engine explode isn't.
