Default My05 wrx lsd ??

Just wondering if the 05 WRX has a rear LSD .

I was reading a book I was given on the history of WRX's and it said in there that they had a rear LSD. The book was from the UK and was obviously talking about the UK specs.

I cant find any mention of a LSD for the AUS. spec cars.

Fairly sure they do not, unfortunately. I think some(or all) of the MY99/00 STi's had them? But WRX's just got normal open diffs. Hard to get the car to slide cause you just end up doing single peggers.

I'm pretty sure they have a Viscous rear LSD much like the center diff.

They have a LSD but they do not have a very strong LSD action. ie; they will still 'single pegger' if you lean on them.

OEM MY02-06 WRX rear diff is an AP Suretrac LSD. Its not bad as long as the oil doesnt get too old or too hot.

So it should still direct drive to the wheel with more grip. Is that right??

So its a bit like a Landcruiser rear diff. Drive it out of the show room, turn left, turn right and your looking for an air locker.

Nope. Will spin the unloaded wheel moreso. Doug says it will single pegger.

^^^
Dont see the point in having one if thats what it does. Isnt the point of a lsd to stop that. Forgive my lack of technical savy on this point.

Is it possible to fit a LSD to the front of a WRX without doing a complete gearbox change or whatever??
