Hey guys/gals,
had my my06 wrx for a couple of weeks and last few days i have noticed a bov type sound when the aircon is on and the compressor kicks in which wasn't there the first week i had it. From what I understand the clutch on the compressor is free spinning and then is engaged when it pumps the air making a slight air release sound.

Now the clutch on the air con compressor on my car is quite tight when trying to spin by hand and when it engages it has a fairly loud "bov sound" which is easily heard in cabin and quite loud when standing next to the engine bay.

Before i ring the dealership and say "the air con compressor clutch is ceasing please fix it" as it has a 3 month statutory warranty, is it actually a problem or are all wrx's loud when pumping aircon?

Mine does it. It makes a Chirp sound when it kicks in. I have an 07 wrx BTW
