Default Wrx Remote start system installation

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has installed a Viper 5904 remote start sytem to a 2009 WRX. I got a quote for installtion and the price is around $1400 with local support. Found that i can get the same syatem for around $250 from USA. So was wondering if i can install them by myself. or have to take it to a professional to get it done.

Your help will be a lot appreciated.

Don

Spend the $1400 on hookers and coke then just use the key to start the car. Much more fun.

Why? Do you dial up 6k and drop reverse?

As far as I know remote start is not legal for the general public's vehicles.

Only diplomatic and consulate vehicles.

Also, I doubt that you insurance company would like it.

IF it can be done then the installer would need to bypass the transponder in the key/ecu because as your car is right now no key in ignition barrel = no start.

Bypassing that system will void your insurance policy.
