Default 06 WRX hesitates on start

Hi,

My 06 WRX hesitates when I start it up, my old 07 povo pack liberty didn't do this. Would this just be the spark plugs? Is the best option the NGK ILFR6B's as per the service manual?

Thanks

define hesitant in your cars view,

Does it take a few second or more than 3 clicks?

Is it consistant every time?

What are the battery voltage levels?

Could also be an immobiliser or fuel pump issue. I know that my car (since installing an alarm/immobiliser) now normally takes 2 goes to turn over when trying to start from cold.

It takes about 5 turns in the morning, less later on or if I restart after the system thinks I was hijacked (again). I think its still the factory battery and its an 06.

Try priming the car twice before cranking.

Ignition on....Pause for 4 seconds, key off....... key on, pause for 4 seconds, then crank it.

Post your results.

(cold mornings can = high tank vacuum & inadequite prime sometimes)
