Default TMIC/BPV Bolt issue

Gday,

Have had a slight problem for a while and want to try and fix it or get some ideas anyway. On my MY09 WRX, I can't seem to get one of the BPV bolts out, it just seems to be spinning around. I remember when I took off the BPV and replaced it with another one (dont know why) I might have tightened the bolt up too much. Remember seeing what I guess would be a brass (read metal) nut type thing embedded into the plastic TMIC housing. If I can get the bolt out can I some how glue or fix it back into the hole or have I fudged it and might require a new TMIC?

TIA

Drill out the hole a fraction bigger and use a tap to put some thread back on it.
Then do the same to the one side of the BPV and get a new bolt to suit.

Would only suggest this if there is plenty of meat around the hole itself.
If there is only another 2 or 3mm of metal around it, you may weaken it by attempting the above.

I would recommend helicoiling it, if your not confidet in doing it then phone a guy called Peter white foot, he specializes in helicoiling and thread repair and he is local

Don't think it's the thread itself, but whatever is holding the bolt on the bpv side. Seems like the metal part is spinning

Sounds like a loose nutsert.
Can't comment on how to repair it though, never used one into plastic.
