Wait, what? The coil overs are going back in just so you can go through this fuckarsing about all over again?

[QUOTE=chevZ;741608]honestly mao from evor is charging me an absolute bargain to drive in, put my stock struts everything in, clear my sticker (i have an appt for the same day) then come back the next day and he puts all my coilies back in and does a wheel alignment/adjusts them to whatever height i want... im gathering because i get everything done there.. its WAY more efficient for me to do that each time i get a sticker than any piss farting around with engineers haha

Could'nt think off any more worse to do than
Get yellow sticker
Get coilies taken out
Put struts and springs in
Get yellow sticker removed
Get struts and springs out again
Coilies back in

You must have some time to kill to do this maybe 2/3 day process
every time you get a yellow
Would spend more time in workshop than actual driving time

would rather spend time driving the wrx
Just a unsolictated opinnion and my 2cents worth

Take coilovers out and put stock gear back on would take a couple of hours on a hoist at worst. Drop off at 8, over pits at 11, coilovers set to how you want by beer o'clock if you've got the right equipment.

If this is being enforced. How long till the insurance companies follow suit.
I.e. Non-approved mod - > decline a claim.

Technically as the suspension and travel has been altered it needs an LS5 & LS6 engineering approval. But this really seems like a cash grab. The engineering report is around the $300-500 mark which make the whole deal rather unattractive.

By the way. Once the engineering report is issued, it needs to be mailed into the DPI for review. They then send out a letter to say you can take it in for pit inspection. Point is this can take another 2-3 weeks. Be surprised if you can get a turnaround on this in under 6 weeks. So reacting on a yellow sticker to get the engineering done can see the car hard parked.
Simpler to do as above and swap bits back and forth.

You say this like I'm the only person in Perth who returns to stock for yellows then puts everything modified back in after.... I know the whole point of Coilovers is to be able to adjust to legal and then go back to lowered in a flash but if you want to weld your coilovers so you can't wind them down past 100mm from ground, be my guest.. I'm not though.

I say it in a surprised fashion given that you've basically been told that cops/pits are cracking down.

Fair enough each to their own, the cops/pits agenda won't really stop me or the majority of people with coilovers from doing it.. I was moreso talking about the pits cracking down on passing cars with coilovers, not cops cracking down on pulling over/stickering people with coilovers.... thats always been common. Most cops wouldn't know what a coilover looks like.
