Steve,

Not at this stage, and in the sup regs its over 130kph for more than 10 secs in 10 minutes, or over 135kph the gps speed monitoring system sends an alarm, so its a bit more than an average speed issue which I think your referring to.

Thinking about the stages, possibly an issue twice in the first four stages, reaching 130kph, but on Gloucester, a fair bit will be @ 130kph. Could almost set the cruise control for that stage esp in the Manjimup side.

After the spectator point on Kuranda, would be a limited area.

Town stages not so much, and only the top of Pump Hill. So there would be a fair bit of speedo watching without a limiter.

From memory, not that I've checked much, but 130kph is fairly high in 3rd gear, but will check this over the weekend at the speed event series down here.

Straight roads are for fast cars, twisty roads are for fast drivers. I have or am neither.

Ah sorry Steve,

Could use ECUDatascan for this as well, but would prefer something neither of us would have to watch.

The cheapest trip meter from say demon tweeks would be about $330 delivered, and the GPS enabled version, so we dont need to tap into the ECU for speed info, and keep ABS, would be $565 del.

Looks like it will be the racerom with its extra features and eyes off operation.

Thanks for those who have offered ideas.

I have a Triptech computer you can have for $150....pretty easy to wire into your ECU (MMS did it on my '06 last year...we used it for TSW recce)...it doesn't have the features of a Monit or Terratrip but does distance forward and reverse, speed, avge speed...etc...may be useful

I'm with Wavey on this one - it needs to be automatic. Having the Nav look at a trip meter or the driver watch the speedo isn't going to work - there's a fair bit of time to be made by sitting precisely on the limiter, and lots to be lost by slipping over it by a bit.

If the stock ECU has a speed limiter in it, then try really hard to work out how to set that to 130km/h - it will be worth it.
