The only valid reason for changing it would be if the catalytic converter inside is blocked or rattling (not fitted to STi version anyway) Or if the flex join is leaking.

The ones supplied with the exhaust rarely fit without modification and sometimes do not fit at all. I've never found one of those cheapo stainless ones to fit anywhere near as well as an original. Before you get too excited check if the tapped holes in the top plate are 10x1.25 pitch, I'll bet they are 1.5 pitch. That's just the start of a few hours wasted that ends up with you throwing the thing in the bin where it belongs.

If you end up finding the diagram and need someone to modify the loom let me know. Be careful if you follow the USDM conversions on NASOIC, from what I have seen sometimes the pinouts are different to the JDM/AUDM gauges. I had a quick google around and I could only find 04+ diagrams... Annoying!

Good luck with the swap!
