Default 03 Sti cluster swap out into 02 WRX

Hi there folks just seeing if anyone has chucked in a 2003 STI cluster into a 2002 Bugeye? ..

iv searched Nasioc and google but all i can come up with is 04 sti swap outs. its purely Aesthetic with the back lighting, and the rev/buzzer.

my mate has an 03 he is wrecking and i got it for a carton. i cant be bothered pulling apart my current one and scraping off the film like in the DIY.
(I am used to swinging a gimpy hammer, not q-tips and nail polish remover)

Hoping its plug and play, but we will see. having a red WRX , but with full green interior makes me feel like a frigging xmas tree on wheels

Pretty sure this has been covered.

Try the search on here.

I am pretty sure they are a straight swap ...

And you can get new bulbs to change the HIVAC to red. I have got a full red set at home if u need them.

Thanks for the response Brett , the only one on P-wrx when i searched for STI cluster just told me that it kinda worked, but dccd stayed on and handbrake etc, but that was for an 04 i think.. 03 sti didnt have dccd from memory??... just hoping i dont have to cut or connect anything.

ill give you a PM about the HVAC bulbs.

I just fitted an 06/07 sti cluster to my 06 wrx. Had to modify 1 plug to fit and cut 1 wire to stop constant beep. Everything works perfect except i have r.diff temp light on constant but seeing as the car doesn't have the sensor anyway I'm not fussed with it.

From the hours of research i generally read that the same year sti cluster will have less issues when fitted to the same year wrx. You will have to modify slightly. Very unlikely just will be direct plug and play. But then again some people had issues that others didn't.

U can put a 03-06 cluster in a bug the only thing is ur ABS and Hand-break light will stay on because the polarity was changed in the circuit boards. Check out scoobymods I'm pretty sure theres a wire-gram up somewhere of how to swap it around - apart from that everything works great! (If i can find the link ill post it up)

I put in a 03 JDM STI cluster into my 03 WRX and I've detailed what must be done to get it working in a WRX.

Thanks for that sethie. Will have a look at that when i get home. You ended up with full functionality with the buzzer and shift light?

Yes. A fully functional STI cluster with the programmable shift light, buzzer and start-up swinging routine. All lights in the cluster work as well, such as headlights, handbrake, signals etc etc.

Any issues let me know and I'll help you out to my best knowledge

Thought I would bump this for anyone wanting to do the swap;

This guide will be of great assistance as It details everything that needs to be done to get everything working;
