Conversion - immobiliser joys
Hey all,
So the story goes like this, instead of fixing the ej25 in my 98 outback (ADM) it seemed like a good idea to drop a 97 wrx motor in (ADM) instead Skipping past all the grease, profanities and frivolities of a conversion, I did something really, really clever and left the key and barrel in the wrx shell, which may or may be recoverable (looking into this, but not holding my breath). Ergo, I've an immobiliser problem. - Not adverse to an aftermarket ecu, but not chasing more power so probably not the most cost effective option. - Could the stock ecu be flashed to remove this exciting feature? - Ideally the immobiliser could be bypassed, and there seems to be the odd question floating around on the web. No solid answers though which seems fair enough given the public forum. This must be possible, though I'd not expect to find a how to guide given the nature of the topic. However, if anyone has any good info on how one might go about this that would be awesome. Apologies if these are silly questions, I've not really played with wrxs much before now. Guess I've no way to demonstrate no ill intent, figured it was worth an ask! Thanks, Will |
