Default Clunks and noises

Hey guys,

Tried searching around, couldn't find much, so decided to see if anyone of you could help me. I drive an MY04 club spec evo 6 (auto, shame I know!)

Anyways lately I have been noticing a whining noise around the 100km/h mark an the 80km/h mark, looked into this, best answer I could get was something to do with the diff. Any ideas? Doesn't happen whilst accelerating, only happens when level with the accelerator. IE holding a certain speed or de-accelerating.

Secondly the clunky gear changes, there's a noticeable clunk sound and rough type feeling after accelerating and letting off the pedal where after the car will change gear with a massive thud. Quite annoying and worrying to say the least. Doesn't happen on hear changes whilst accelerating.

Finally I've noticed whilst turning (mainly only right) if I am to accelerate out of a turn/mid way the car revs out and doesn't accelerate, sometimes it spins the wheels but only two of them (and no I'm not trying to do this on purpose!) but mostly the revs will sky rocket and the car won't go anywhere until it either clunkily changes gear or it suddenly kicks in all of a sudden with a burst of power.

I don't know what's going on with the poor girl, maybe she's on her way out, but any ideas or advice would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks,

Dylan.

Id say, much like most of Rockingham's female population, your box is fucked.

Torque converter is shagged?
When is the last time the oil level in the gearbox was checked/replaced?

No clue, took her in for a service at STechnic not too long ago, unsure as to whether or not they gave it a look over, mentioned it to them, they took it for a drive and said It seemed fine, since then it's getting a little worse..

Hi Dylan , I recently had the same drama with my Lib's auto tranny, Very violent gear changing up and down , had the tranny fluid changed and now runs like a dream, the mechanic said I had a bit of crap stuck to the magnet in the bottom of the box to capture bits of metal etc... Basically some crap got stuck in the sensor. A big thanks to the crew at STechnics especially Doug who worked on my car. Hope this helps
Cheers Sandy
