Default 06-07 oem sti clutch vs wrx

Just drove an sti im interested in. It had a HD clutch of an undetermined brand. Its the first time i had driven something with a clutch like it. Problem is the missus will not be able to drive it. The car sits at 260whp so i dont think the clutch is necassary. If i buy it i will putting an oem clutch in. Im curious how the eom clutch compares to the same year wrx?

Id go drive another one but im not interested in any of the others forsale so id just be tyre kicking.

Also cry me a river if this upsets you.

I've got a 2006 WRX with a standard clutch. My wife has no trouble driving it with the standard one. My car is stock apart from a cat back exhaust though. I went from a Toyota Echo to the WRX and although the Echo had a lighter clutch the WRX is not much different in reality. It only took a few drives to get use to it.

just replace it with an aftermarket organic clutch, my mum could get in mine and drive mine after not driving manual for over 5 years

Or.. Alternatively... Don't let the missus drive it

In seriousness tho & having driven both, the STI clutch pedal is heavier to push in than the WRX.

I've driven about 3 WRXs in the GD shape with stock clutch and 2 STIs including my old one and found the STI clutch lighter....
