I think you can get some kind of bush upgrade for your drive shafts, I recall them being quite cheap and from peddars.

Is this common? maybe its just the diffback exhaust bouncing off the driveshaft end near the diff.. it had signs of it but i had never heard any loud noises until now and had heard rex's make the noise?
Had an argument over who's lane it was with a new SS, i won. First time ive really had to use the whole tacho up a few times Didnt even do a proper launch, took off normal and gassed it up. Last edited by SilentKilla; 08-06-2006 at 09:51 PM. |

As far as I know its common. Mine used to do it under heavy gear changes everytime.
I remember posting the exact same question on the old forums and got the reply I gave you about the bush thingoes from peddars. |

You can get a bushing kit for the rear shaft/diff to stop the banging, whiteline do one.
However, this will make the rear diff seem very very loud, especially under decelleration. Speak to RMS for more info.

theres an assortment of bushings you can fit to stop the thumping
start with the moustache bar donut ring bushings (superpro), upgraded sti group-n gearbox mounts, gearbox subframe support mounts (superpro), rear diff bushings (superpro), sti/cusco spherical lateral and trailing arms, sti tailshaft propshaft bearing mount and lastly the whiteline rear subframe lockup kit.
