Default Re-activating keypad 06 STi

Hey everyone,

I've had my my06 STi for about 6 months now
The previous owner had the keypad disabled by Subaru (as it was stock as a rock and had everything done through Subaru Wangara) as they said they had problems with it. This doesn't mean they just didn't know how to use the valet mode and stuff properly but anywho

Dave at Stechnic said it hasn't been disabled properly as the lights are still flashing on the keypad but I don't need to enter a code to start up the car.
Good little deterrent if some dickbeater looks through my window.
Would it be worth my time getting it re-activated? and how would i go about doing this?

Any help would be awesome

Does your insurance company know that the factory anti-theft system is disabled?

Yep, sure do.
It's also not 100% disabled, just the keypad part of it, the immobiliser, alarm and everything are still 100% functional

The factory immobiliser is more than sufficent , the keypad (brant) taps into thefactory system and also the fuel pump relay.
If the brant wiring has been removed from the fuel pump circuit then leave it as the factory system disables the pump anyway.
If they really want your car they will have to take your keys.

Yeah i guess so also reading all the issues people have had with the brant alarm I think it would be better to just stay away from a potential problem haha.
Don't fix what isn't broken i guess

You can get an Autowatch keypad attached for $250 via Evolution R that replaces the Brant one. Pretty sure they can leave the Brant one flashing as an added deterrent. All depends on how much of a pain you find entering a code every time you start the car.
