My advise is decide what you are looking to achieve with the car first. Then if its coilovers maybe have a ride in car with the brand you are looking at buying. Lots of members here running different coilovers for various reasons.

For me it was a case of wanting to get bigger rims (19") and reduce the height of the forester. I went with HSD coilovers after getting some good advise and feedback from others. I also selected coil springs with the rate that was best suited to comfort as well. A good reseller should be able to help you there. The other thing to consider is how just going low will effect the steering geometry of your car (handling). You will need at a minimum a good wheel alignment with some camber (read not bob jane spec alignment. You will also benefit from a Whiteline ALK to go with your new low stance.
My HSD are set soft and to be honest I never have any issues with ride comfort around town unless you hit a big pot hole and everyone will feel that. I am low but the car handles well. You are more than welcome to try me out for a test ride too. Hit me via pm.

We sell the Cusco units at MMS and have had nil warranty returns.

Shane just purchased a package for his liberty and he has not come in moaning about them at all. PS were have you been Shane I have the new oil there for your engine

Chris has them in his 2011 sti sedan and we received good feed back from him and others that have driven his car

we are fitting these to the toyota 86 & BRZ with the incab controller.

Over the years I have played around with various suspension setups and can say that Coilovers (Ksport - RX-7, STD - WRX) win hands down in all areas over other options. Need to be set up properly of course.

Wouldnt you get more wear on the inside of the tyre with normal driving?
Yes you will get more wear on the inside shoulder...even running a relatively mild 2 deg. But negative camber will (generally) give you better turn in and more contact through the corner but will make the car a little less stable in a straight line and will tram line on undulations. Also road conditions play a part...eg you don't want excessive negative camber in the wet or on rougher roads which is why tarmac rally cars tend not to run excessive neg compared to track cars.
Adjustable top hats are a better way to get neg camber than using camber bolts. Some coilovers (eg DMS) have eccentric camber adjustment at the bottom of the strut.

Would anybody with a hatch or sedan with HSD (or any coilovers even) mind taking me for a little drive around the block so I can get a feel for the ride? Prefer NOR as I live up in pearsall but I will make the trip if need be.

Ready to spend some more money, but want to make sure I can deal with coilovers on a daily ride. Thanks in advance.

Around the block won't tell you if they are shit.
You need to go Perth to Toodjay via the backroads, if you don't slide off the road backwards and can still walk when you get out of the car they're decent.

Aint nobody got time fo dat?

You are right though, driving it like a shopping trolley through the burbs isn't going to give much indication of how good the setup is, but I'm more so wanting to feel how hard the setup is on daily routines. Though I do only have a 6KM trip to work every morning so it's not like it matters LOL.

The interwebs are giving me pretty good feedback on what handles well and what doesn't, and HSD seems to get a pretty good rap for being at the lower end of the price spectrum. But by all means, if somebody wants to take me for a spirited sprint, I won't be complaining.
