depending on what your other mods are, including internal specs, 272 generally helps with mid-high range response

I have CP pistons, forged eagle rods its also been ported and polished i also have a 4 into 1 s/s exhaust manifold and a fmic. At the moment im unsure if i also need a new computer to get any benefits out of my mods or the stock will do?

well ive had the car about 7 yrs and i have grown up in the rally side of motorsport but i have chosen to go tarmac with this car as i finaly have some money to spend on her. i got my parts from Carmods in queensland and the guys said they are running a similar setup in there car and they are getting about 450hp. i wont get that with a vf34 but it means my internals will withstand a fair bit of power. if i was to get a new computer what be a good choice.

Go to STechnic or Maximums and discuss this with them is your best bet.

Yes big change in midrange power and extended power band to the redline.
Stock version 6 Sti running 1.4bar on VF29 Built motor running 1.49bar on VF34/p18 - Crower 272 cams - 1st dyno run As tuning progressed (I did all the PFC mapping myself) it went on to make 387nm & 312hp at the hubs with the VF34 @ 1.7bar

come on now guys the op is asking us for opinions, help.
Modifying the cams to a 272 will give you some improved mid range power/torque and if you are doing the cams you really should have a look at the heads too. Before you do that ask yourself how much power you want. If you stick with the VF34 then you will not make huge power torque numbers but you will have a nice and quick car.
