Default Rex dropped coolant, Help please

Hey all,

I arrived at work tonight and as I pulled into the car park I saw a massive
steam cloud. I parked up and could see a trail of coolant from the start of the car park to where I parked my car.

I looked under the bonnet and could not see where the coolant leaked from.
I haven't had a chance to see if I have any left or not. As I had to go into work.

The other odd thing is that my temperature gauge was sitting half way where it does all the time and did not show any signs of over heating.

Has this happened to any one before.

Also the car is a 2001 wrx

Thanks

Hey mate best idea is to top it up with water and take it to see your mechanic. It is normal for the temperature gauge to not move unless it is really overheating

Could be a cracked end tank on the radiator, I think its the normal for these cars as they hit this age now.

I would avoid running the car until it gets to a mechanic. Can you leave it at work overnight and get a ride home?

Look for hairline cracks on the top plastic part of the radiator... That's where mine shat itself, took me a good few minutes to find the crack...

Thanks for the reply guys.
I ended up getting it towed home. (cost a small fortune)
I had a look at it today and the bottom of the radiator has a hole a little smaller than a 5 cent piece.
Mission now is to find a good radiator for the rex to get her back on the road.

Would any of you know if the aluminum ones are any better than the standard ones?

By Red hose, is that like Silicone hose?

I have been looking at the Mishimoto Aluminum radiator. Anyone heard of these?
$270 us and $30 shipping. Can install myself.
