Load your top mount with ice before your run. Or, have a 500ml pray bottle with some water & isopropyl alcohol mixed in it & douse the cooler core before your run.

Ice on top of the manifold gives a noticeable difference.

Dry ice is the way to go as it looks cool steaming out of your scoop and won't drop water on the track...............And really works well.

All sounds like to much messing about all that stuff. I just wanted to press a button in the comfort of my seat.

Wouldn't the extremely low temp of dry ice (-80 degrees give or take) cause issues with sensors? I'm sure I read many moons ago it was similar with cryo chilling IC's and the need for ECU's to have parameters for such low intake temps. This could all be interwebs hearsay though, so more than happy for someone to clear it up.

Slightly opening the throttle to about 1500 rpm cools the intercooler. I have seen temps if before and after. The air running through the cooler by the engine has a cooling effect just as much as the air going over it because it's not being compressed yet. It's just flowing, not pressuring.

Also it's really easy to just wire in an inline switch you can press to power the spray motor. It's like beginners electronics 101.

Carl,

Guessing one of the wires is black, and the other maybe blue? (Looking at a wiring diagram from an 06 Sti downloaded from the manuals section of the forum, but its USD)

Depends on how MMS wiried it up, (from the diagram) these wires from the motor should go back to a relay, two of these wires, one goes to ground, the other to to water tank low level switch so the pump won't run when the tank is empty.

Back to the two wires you can see, providing ones black, the other colour should go to the pressure switch in the engine bay. If you know where the pressure switch is for that, its simply a matter of running your "manual" switch in parallel so you bypass the pressure switch, or run a 12 volt supply through your manual switch to the pump motor (coloured wire).

Any idea how long it takes for the pump to empty the bottle? or how much water is used during your longest run? Just asking so you don't empty the bottle before you do your run.

Oh, dont forget the cable, switch and fuse needed to be capable of running the motor, not sure what size that is.
