yes, the turbo will spool earlier with wrapped up-pipe

Hi_VoLtAgE 26-06-2006 10:45 AM

including headers? i've been told they will crack if you heat wrap?

mr_psi 26-06-2006 10:52 AM

i wrapped mine :D

i believe you should heat wrap it.. i cant see it cracking with the heat wrap i can only see it cracking without the heat wrap

u'll get quicker spool up with wrapped header...
AFAIK, heat wrap traps moist, its the moist that will crack the header up. Spray it with a can of VHT after u wrapped it should help a little I guess

hotter is betterer...

as for the moisture issue, any guesses on what the surface temp is of your headers and up-pipe when the car is running, especially after being driven hard?

I reckon it would be higher than the boiling point of water... ;)

Just try not to cross rivers/run through "large" puddles then park your car...

well they have that plastic shield under the bay anyway....
