Cheers. Did a 'sort of' wheel test when I was changing tyres- one wheel on ground, other in air and turn. Was a little resistance, but could be done. May need Doug to have a look...

Does it rattle and clang when you do a tight turn? Especially if it's slow and uphill so you're applying some drive to it. Mine sounded nasty and would scratch the tyres when you did. Maybe we should wash it out and fill it with lightweight and try it?

Doesn't seem to be that bad yet Doug... and still ok during street driving, it's just when you put it on the line during track work that it's dissapointing.
I'm inclined to believe that it's beginning to wear out as Ludwig has suggested...

How good is shimming vs rebuild kit- cost benefit wise and performance trade offs??

I have the same issue. Inside rear wheel always spins and smokes up. Its the standard VLSD. How much abuse does the diff oil need before it turns into a LSD on the track? I always thought the viscous oil got hot and then bound up hard like a LSD. Is that the case or not?

That's the theory, but the reality is sadly not the case. VLSD's are nowhere near strong enough to drive the opposte wheel if one is lifted.

Joel, where did your LSD come from? I would think a clutch rebuild would be excessive at this stage, just get some less slippy oil in it first and try it. It should be clanging on tight turns if it's working.

Joel got the Diff from me. It was tight when it came out of my car. It wont clang and bang around with the Heavy Weight Shock Proof Redline oil in there. It was always pretty quiet when I had it.
